5 Tips to Fight Acne

Every guy wants clear skin! That's a fact. It doesn't matter if you're one of those guys who spends little time on his appearance. You still don't want a face full of whiteheads and blackheads. Fortunately in this day and age, you have plenty of options when it comes to acne treatments and pimple prevention. Here are 5 tips to fight acne blemishes and breakouts.

1) Use a face wash both morning and night, and choose a product that is free of dyes, fragrances, alcohol, and harsh chemicals. These ingredients can actually do more harm than good. Try a gentle face wash like Purpose, or a cleanser with acne-fighting ingredients like Salicylic Acid. This way you can keep your face free of oil and acne-causing bacteria.

2) Keep your hands and hair off of your face. You might not put much thought into it, but every time you touch your face, you wipe bacteria on it. When your hair sits on your face, it puts oil on it. It's important to keep your face clear of any outside germs, oil, and bacteria. Therefore, hands and hair, off.

3) Use a daily sunscreen. Believe it or not, but the sun actually contributes to acne breakouts. This is because harmful UV rays cause irritation and dryness, which results in clogged pores and more pimples. There are men's sunscreens available that will not cause breakouts, but will help prevent further UV damage to your skin.

4) Try an acne product like Proactiv Plus or Jack Black Clear Complexion. When used daily, these topical treatments can really make an improvement. Aside from preventing new acne blemishes, you should notice a reduction in existing whiteheads and blackheads, as well as acne marks.

5) Last but not least, don't overdo it. Washing your face more than twice a day, using too many products on the skin, and exfoliating too often can cause more acne breakouts. Stick to a daily skincare routine, but remember your skin is a delicate organ.
