3 Reasons To Apply Daily Sunscreen

Sunscreen is one crucial step in your grooming process. It should not be overlooked, even on cloudy days. Regardless of the season, you need to apply a daily sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15. Years down the road, you'll be glad you did. Here are three important reasons to apply daily sunscreen or a moisturizer with sunscreen.

1) Applying a daily sunscreen helps prevent sunburn and broken capillaries. Many guys do not realize it, but when your face is red from too much sun, this means the dermis is damage. Even if it turns into a tan a few days later, you have done permanent damage to your complexion. This damage will show up later in life. Plus, sunburns are painful.

2) A sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater will help prevent fine lines and wrinkles. The sun's damaging UVA and UVB rays are the primary cause of wrinkles, surface lines, and crow's feet under the eyes. By applying a sunscreen to your face and neck areas, 30 minutes before heading out each morning, you will dramatically reduce signs of aging and keep your visage looking youthful.

3) The sun causes age spots, which are commonly known as hyper pigmentation or brown spots. It's no secret that men get these too; especially on the face. When your skin is not protected from the sun, this causes an excess build-up of melanin, which results in a brown spot or dark pigmentation on the skin. This is essentially the skin's way of protecting itself. Once you have these age spots and dark marks, they are very difficult to get rid of.

It's wise to choose a sunscreen that contains key ingredients to defend against both UVA and UVB rays. For instance, Avobenzone is a chemical sunscreen that helps with this. Physical sunscreens even provide more protection, and will not absorb into the skin as much. These are Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. If you really want to prevent sun damage, go for a sunscreen with an SPF of 20 to 50.
