Jack Black Line Smoother Review

Jack Black Line Smoother is a daily skincare treatment for aging complexions. This face moisturizer is available for $29 per bottle (3.3 ounces), and you can find it in stores like Ulta, Nordstrom, and other department stores, as well as online. Unlike some moisturizers, this one is better for nightly use, as opposed to in the morning.

Aside from hydrating your parched skin, Jack Black Line Smoother actually exfoliates the top layers. It is oil-free and lightweight, and absorbs pretty quickly. According to the official website, you should notice real improvements in your complexion after six weeks of steady use. Specifically, this lotion is intended to fight signs of aging like wrinkles, sun damage, and dryness. Minor sun damage and creases should lessen over time.

Let's take a look at what is actually used in this face moisturizer. First of all, the primary ingredient is Glycolic Acid (8%). This is a natural sugar cane extract, and it is commonly referred to as the most potent of the alpha hydroxy acids. It works by breaking apart the glue that holds dead skin cells together. In other words, it helps dissolve the outer layers of damaged skin.

Other ingredients found in Jack Black Line Smoother include Vitamin E (provides antioxidants to fight free radicals), Vitamin A (increases skin cell turnover), Grape Seed Extract (reduces fine lines and signs of aging), Licorice Root Extract (reduces irritation), Aloe Leaf Juice (hydrates and helps with healing), Panthenol (conditions the skin), and Sage Leaf Extract (reduces bacteria).

Does this anti-aging moisturizer really work? I use this as my nightly moisturizer and exfoliation product in one. It helps me prevent and get rid of acne blemishes, and it definitely helps prevent surface lines and wrinkles. I like the way it hydrates immediately, and even helps prevent any ingrown whiskers. Having said that, I do not use Jack Black Line Smoother during the daytime. Since it contains 8% Glycolic Acid, it increases your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Therefore it can increase your chances of sunburn and sun damage when used during the day. It makes more sense to use a moisturizer with sunscreen or just a sunscreen during the daytime.

  1. Excellent review of Jack Black Line Smoother. I've been using Jack Black products for 6 years now and love them. Line Smoother is pretty intense - it really exfoliates dead surface cells and helps with dullness, once breakouts and sun damage. But I can't use it every night. The AHA in JB Line Smoother are a but strong. You can feel the tingling when it is applied. It works on the neck are as well and helps reduce issues with razor bumps and ingrown whiskers. Just don't use it right after shaving. It will sting something awful. It's best for nighttime use. Not good to wear out in the sun. Cheers

  2. Josh, I appreciate your honest feedback. I too have tried the Jack Black Line Smoother, and agree that it's a great product, especially for reducing dryness, acne scars and blemishes, and fine lines and wrinkles. Over time it helps with sun damage as you stated. In comparison to similar face treatments/moisturizers, it's a good deal price-wise. Thanks for posting!
