Anti Aging for Men

Do you look your age? While I am horrible at guessing how old people are, many men tend to look several years past their real age. Now, you may be thinking that women like a distinguished gentlemen, or wrinkles are sexy on men, but the reality is if you’re 35, you should not look 45. A great deal of how old you really look depends on your lifestyle. If you choose to, you can maintain a young and radiant appearance for quite some time. All it takes is a simple routine, and maybe an anti aging cream or serum. Let’s go over some routine factors that contribute to aging.

1) Sun exposure! If you are not slapping on sunscreen before you head out in the morning, you’re simply asking for fine lines and crow’s feet. Pick up a decent sun block for your face that offers an SPF of 15 or higher. Although you may not realize it, the sun’s harsh UV rays contribute to aging skin more than any other factor (maybe with the exception of smoking).

2) Consume all the water you can handle each day. This will hydrate your complexion from the inside out. Beverages with loads of caffeine like soft drinks and coffee can have the opposite effect on your skin. You can still have them in moderation, but drink plenty of water as well.

3) Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. The powerful nutrients and antioxidants are awesome for your skin. You will see a change in no time!

4) Don't smoke! Even though some men don’t want to hear it, the nasty toxins in cigarettes and cigars destroy your skin by decreasing elasticity and breaking down essential collagen that keeps your skin taut. You don’t want a “smoker’s face.”

5) Adopt a simple yet effective skin care regimen that you can stick with morning and night. Cleansing and moisturizing your face with topical products that suit your skin type is very beneficial. If you can, get started as young as in your teens. This will help you prevent a lot of those fine lines and deep wrinkles from ever showing up. It is certainly not mandatory to wait until you hit 30.

6) Exfoliation a few times each week with a good face scrub is awesome for sloughing away dead skin cells and exposing a youthful glow. Try one from Jack Black, Nivea, Pevonia, Zirh, or Sharps Barber and Shave.

7) As much as you’ll hate this one, I have to say it; avoid excessive partying! Yes sir, I have to go there. Although many men do not want to hear it, it is the truth. All the guys I know who were party animals throughout college and their 20s look quite a bit older and certainly more haggard than those who didn't. This is basically because excessive drinking and staying up all night has a terrible effect on your appearance. Just look at any rock star from the 80s.

8) Last but not least, get eight to nine hours of sleep every night. This is crucial! Your body needs sufficient rest to look its best.
